Cut Crystal vase with Naval decoration « Piloto Pardo ».

Piloto Pardo’s history from 1914 says that the chilian captain Luis Alberto Pardo rescues the irish explorator Ernest Shacklerton and his 22 crew members from his ship on Elephant Island after the failure of their expedition to cross the Antarctic Continent. In 1957 the Antarctic Dream was built by the Chilian navy with the purpose of servicing the country’s scientific bases in Antartica, and it was christened « Piloto Pardo ».
